kickdown adjustment

Is there a procedure for adjusting the mechanical kickdown rod? Doesn't kick down at full throttle.

It's my 80 F150, 300/c4. I assume it's a c4 anyway, can't see them putting a c6 in it.

The best way is to either have someone hold the gas pedal to the floor or put a brick on it.

Then push the kd as far as it will go.

Adjust it so there is about .020 clearance at the carb.

Thanks, that's my little project for today. Sounds easy enough.

yes the C6 came behind the 300, It has similar TQ output to the 351w but at lower engine speeds.

Oops...better look next time I'm under there. Truck does have the 9" in it.
I know this has been covered in lots of other threads, but the deeper you get into it, the more you find out they did some strange things from the factory. Was talking to a local here that has a Shelby GT500 convertible, and we were discussing how it's almost possible every one of them is unique, like his could be the only green ragtop with an AM radio for example.
