Wiring Schematic Needed

I just bought a Signal-Stat 900 turn signal switch for my '66 F250 4X4.

Would anyone happen to have a wiring schematic for the original turn signal switch? It should be the same for all '61 - '65 4X4's, '66 F250 4X4's, and all '61 - '66 F350's.

Even just a list for what each color wire is hooked to would help a lot.

You are right, is should be very close for a lot of those years. You might look here for a similar setup that would have been used in 1964:

Ill give it a shot.

You should have a yellow and a green wire these will go to your rear turn signal lights.

White blue and green white(first color denotes color of wire and second denotes tracer color) to front turn signal lights.

The blue wire will go to the turn signal flasher.

Red will go to the stop light switch

You should be able to pick all of these up at two molex plug in connectors either behind the gauge cluster or by following the leads comming down the side of the steering column. Assuming that your truck is still in its original condition. Hope this helps. This is from a wiring diagram for B F and T series trucks. I used it to rewire my 65 F100 4x4 and the colors are just as the diagram says.

Buzz is pretty close to what I have. Yellow-black and green to rear turn signal lights. White-blue and green-white to dash lights and front turn signal lights. Blue-yellow to horn. Red-black to stop light switch. Blue to turn signal flasher. The difficulty that I had when replacing my turn signal switch was identifying the faded colors of the existing wires, which caused me to cross some wires. No harm done, except that I broke my horn springs during disassembly. Good luck.

Thanks for all the quick replies. When I pulled the steering wheel loose to gut the turn signal switch, the only thing wrong with it was that the 2 retaining screws fell out. Put them in and it works like a million bucks.

Another that was easy moment. Better put some loctite on those screw threads from the sounds of it.

First and foremost, Welcome to the family of Ford truck Enthusiast, welcome to FTE!!! Posting couple pic's out of the 65 wiring manual, which is same/simular to the 66, just not sure how circuits may differ between the 4X2 and 4X4; perhaps more knowledgeable member can advise. I find the manual comes in handy tracking down electrical gremlins. If the manual is applicable may want to consider purchasing, many of the Ford part supplier's carry it, or purchase directly from the source; Jim Osborn Reproductions for $7. Other members have given advice on the upgrades so no need to add my $.02. I do have a suggestion, if decide to go with the P/S upgrade and there's salvage shopping involved make a list of the items needed, can't recall how many times I had to return, so you might want to keep an eye out for the 2-3 sheave damper pulley. Again welcome, looking forward to your input and post pic's if/when you can.
