There is a blower motor resistor that is used to change fan speeds. When it burns out only high speed works.

So the whole blower motor needs to be replaced? Where is it located?

No, the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced. I'm not sure where it is on your vehicle.

Most resistors are replaced by unplugging the electrical connector, removing the two or three screws that hold it in the blower housing, pulling it out of the housing, throwing the old one in the trash, and reversing those instructions to install the new one. Usually it is a 5 minute or less type job.

So the resistor is on the fan housing?

95 blower motor

Blower motor is in the engine compartment on the firewall directly forward of the passenger seat. Resistor block is in the lower quadrant of the motor housing on the engine side; can be replaced without removing the blower unit.
Depending on YOUR vehicle, the battery may be forward of the blower; my 95 has the battery on the driver's side.
