downsizing wheel info needed
hi all, I'm new to the forum. Just purchased a pre owned 2007 fx2 super crew with 20" wheels and 6 bolt pattern. My question is regarding downsizing to 18" for winter tires. I can get a set for much less that the 275/55/20 that are on it now. Can I go to 18" rims without causing damage? A tire shop clerk stated that it could screw up my ABS system. Is that true, cause I've seen the same truck with the option of 18".
oh yeah, I will be posting pictures of my new baby soon. Had it for just a week, but already love it. It's gonna be hard to stop myself from wanting to add customizations, but I guess I have to control myself
any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
cheers

If you are going to have much variation in tire size you may want to have a dealer recalibrate your pcm for speedometer and shift point accuracy. Other than that you should have no problems at all. I am sure you are not the only one on this site doing the exact same thing in order to keep road salt off of expensive wheels or have a set of snow tires.

Stock 18" wheels will work fine. You'll want a 275/65/18 which is the stock 4wd size if you want your speedo to be accurate.
