I fail to see what this site has to do with 48-52 Ford truck owners...

Didn't see a 56 F-100 either!

Are you referring to the repro cowl vents?

If you click on New Products while on the site, it'll take you to the repro parts they offer. One of the parts is the cowl vent cover. It's $180 NZD, which converts to approximately $142 USD.

Although the cowl vent covers can be hard to locate in good shape, they still can be found for a lot less. I have one in case anyone is in need.

That's a bit pricey for cowl vent covers...I'll keep you in mind if I need one.

I think the fact they are professionally stamped is noteworthy; but they should move on to stamping out Bonus Built fenders! or at least decent patch panels.

Amen to that! I couldn't help but notice the "Massey Ferguson Tractor" section. I have one of those tractors. They fabbed up what looks like some sort of seat risor or something. Scratching my head there. Can't figure that one out.

Interesting feed back- Cowl vents covers are impossible to find in our part of the world and these fit both bonus and f1 unlike factory ones which dont interchange even tho they look the same.At least this way you know its going to fit.

Massy ferguson link shows seat/battery boxes rebuilt for a customer who has 60+ tractors can't recall what model tractor sorry but good spoting!

F100 can be found under our projects heading Need to update pics tho as its now all but rolling exhast headers done etc.
Cheers Kiwi

What do you mean, "these fit bonus and F-1, unlike factory ones which don't interchange"? AFAIK, all 48-52 trucks from F-1 to F-8 use the same vent.

Thanks for the interest everyone.

Ok theres what i know about cowl vents so far;

Yes all vents are the same shape regardless of year or model 48-52

BUT the mounting surface where they bolt to the vent opening mecanisum and in particular the hole centres and sizes of screws that hold vent in place changed between models and or manufacturing plants by 10mm (3/8th) thats why ours now have a slot with a caged nut to allow for both.

There were also diferences in the stamping of the lower section of vent possibly between manufacturing plants for example US and Canada etc??? some had a simple top hat section and others are like what we have reproduced but both are the same depth.

I have seen a number of different stampings (and found out the HARD WAY that they are not all the same)

Over here most if not all or trucks came in RHD ex canada back then now there are plenty of LHD trucks being imported by enthusiusts
Take a close look at my f100 and you will see its RHD.

Hey have a great day Hope you get to spend some time working on or driving your trucks

Interesting, from what you describe Canadian trucks should have the same issues with fitment of US-spec parts? (and vice versa) I don't recall it ever coming up.

I've had different cowl vent covers on the parts trucks I've had. Most looked like the reproduction one shown but I've had ones with a box shaped area where it mounted to the vent machanism.
