Looking for outside temperature displayt suggestions?

I'm looking for an inside outside thermometer for my truck something that has a remote temperature probe and can be hard wired into truck any thoughts.

Simpler would be better If I could find one that just gave outside temp and had constant on backlight that would be great.

Don't need compass, time, inside temp or anything else.

I have found some crappy ones at box store but all battery operated and no outside wired temp probe

Go on ebay and search for olbird , he takes overhead consoles from f150 and modifys them slightly to work with our trucks. I got one for my 03 superduty and love it. He will sell you everthing you need to complete the project including step by step instructions. My console only has compass and outside temp and thats all I wanted.

I think Teltek USA has what you're looking for. They have a few different styles to choose from.

I installed ol bird's temp display, which is actually a take off overhead console; he was terrifically helpful when I was considering buying it and after the sale with installation questions.
I never found a simpler or equivalent solution; all of the standalone displays were, as noted, crappy.
You will need the console and you can also buy the temp sensor from him at the same time.
2 thumbs up

This is olbirds web site:
Retrofit Ford F150, F250, F350 Overhead Console Kits

I installed one of his units in my truck.

For a lot more money you could get an Edge Insight CS or CTS. They have an optional outside temp sensor, plus you would get all the other engine monitoring capabilites.

I go by the intake temp on my Scangauge II. When your moving its pretty darn accurate. I'm always within a couple degrees of the thermometer readouts jiggers that businesses put out. Plus the Scangauge has other uses.

There are a couple of companies that make a digital outside temp gauge. It fits any standard gauge pod. A little cheaper and easier than installing an overhead console. I have had them in my jeep and truck for the last 12 years with no issues. Got mine from Summit Racing.
