My 59 has front and rear bumpers that are just lengths of 5" square tubing. A previous owner welded the front one directly to the frame, and welded the rear one to some brackets that were welded to the frame.
They do not look bad, but they are not my style. I already have an original front bumper and am looking for a period correct rear step bumper.

You can have the front bumper seen in my avatar. It has a kink from a chain pull, but shouldn't be too hard to heat and fix. I found a thicker one that is mint in a wrecking yard and intend to swap it out this weekend. I could get it to the Bellingham area, not too far from you.
I want something clean and simple.

Gave these guys a ring and they said the '59 they have (the other truck has sold) has non-ford bumpers on it?? I'm looking for a tailgate too but they said that it had been "modified" which really meant "hacked up". Oh well...search on.

The one with the chrome bumper was red and had a bunch of hokey Mack stuff on it, like the ford letters above the grille said 'Mack' instead. Coulda sworn it was the correct bumper......might be a whole different truck. I'm thinking the blue and white one sold. It was way too nice to be ground up and sent to China.....

Been building this rear bumper for my flareside. My current weekend project. As for now I intend to run extensions back to the fenders and diamond plate the tops of them. These will be scribed around the fenders to fit the box. This has been a very common type of rear bumper I have seen over and over with many variations since I started taking mental notes on this kind of thing at about 18 years old. 40 years ago. I added a step I bent from a big old crowbar because the truck is tall and I am short. And tired.
