loss of fuel
I have a 08 f250 4x4 with the 6.4 and 33000 miles. Last night when I got home and pulled into the drive way my dinger went off for 50 miles to E. I thought it was strange cause i thought there was a half tank not to long ago but i just thought i was wrong. This morning i hit the remote start on it and it ran for 10 minutes untill i got in it. When i got in it i had 32 miles to E. I drove 2 miles and it went down to 13 miles to E. The cluster still shows im getting 11.2 mpg. In 2 minutes of idle it went from 13 to 10 miles to E. I cant see or smell a leak any place and the trucks not smoking. Its running great. I went through the display on the cluster and its not in regen. Any help would be great.

My driving conditions hasn't changed for the last 30000 miles. Is this normal for it to just all of a sudden lose miles to empty as fast as it is? even sitting at a idle its never done this. It just doesn't seem right that sitting at a idle it goes down around 3 miles to empty every 2 minutes.

Maybe the fuel level sending unit in the fuel tank is gelled or gunked up. It's not too uncommon for this to happen, Its happened 2 times in my F-250 7.3L company truck although it has 225,000 miles. the unit has contacts on it and if they wear out or corrode it can send false readings to your gauge, Because your readings are so erratic i would bet there is something wrong with the sending unit. if you lost that much fuel in your oil you would know it because the truck would overheat due to not enough lubrication.
