Q logic subwoofer box.

So I have decided that my truck needs a little more bump, so I am going to purchase this box to go under the rear seat.

2004-08 Ford F150 SuperCrew Custom Q-Logic 12" Sub woofer Box | eBay

Does anyone have this box? It says that it is only 8 inches Deep. I am going to buy my sub off of fleabay, but none of them seem to say what the depth of the sub is. Some of you sound system gurus who might have this set up chime in and let me know of what sub/subs would work.

I just don't want to go buying a sub that won't work. Thanks ahead of time for the info.

The Q logic stuff is nice. If you can afford it, the JL Audio box for our trucks is even better.

As far as what works/fits...the depth is less of a concern and the volume a certain sub requires is more important. You don't want to put a sub that needs 1.5 cubic feet in a box that only provides 0.75 cubic feet for instance. The better you can match the volume, the better the sub will perform and sound.

where can I buy the JL Audio sub box?The only JL audio box that I can seem to find only fits their 13.5 inch sub. It will not accomodate any other sub woofer. Is this the only box that they make? If I get the volume that the sub needs as close as I can to what the box is, then it should fit in the box without any problems right?

Most subs are 6 or so inches deep. But not all are. You'd have to find the specs.
As for JL check on crutchfield.com. lots of helpful info there and some good deals to be had too. I have a small 8" enclosure made by JL preloaded with their W3 sub and it hits pretty hard. It can be found on crutchfield as well. I matched it with one of their mono amps and it sounds great. Check my gallery for pics.

I like crutchfields options, but I really want a box that it covered in tan carpeting. All of theirs are gray.

Whew...750 is a little more than I want to spend, but if I want one that is the right color that would work out perfectly. I'm going to keep researching. Not in really that much of hurry to put some bump in my truck. Thank you for the info. I searched crutchfield a little more, and they do have some cheaper boxes that I can get in tan.

Yeah it's some pretty decent coin. But honestly, worth...every...penny.

I decided on a little less bump, and a little more budget friendly way to go. Here's my thread:

You can get this exact setup from Crutchfield. For an 8" sub, it bangs inside the truck...very hard to hear outside the truck and I really like that.

I ended up finding a dealer on ebay that builds custom boxes. They had really good feedback, and their boxes are well built. A buddy of mine has one in his truck. It is for a 12 and is super loud.

The one I ordered is for a 10. I don't need it to be super loud, but the truck just needs a little more bass. I'm going to put a pioneer shallow mount 10 in it and a pioneer amp (Reason being, it has to be all matching and I already have a pioneer in dash nav system in it).

Here is what I ordered:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Still got to find me a good amp.

Just curious, who told you the entire system had to match? I have a Pioneer HU with a JL amp and the two couldn't be happier together.

No one. I'm just a pioneer fan and always have been, and i'm pretty OCD about my truck. I know it doesn't have to match, but I want it to.

Sweet setup you have in your truck I took a look at your thread. Very nice work. I don't have the cash right now or I would definitely get one of those JL boxes. I think the one I ordered will do just fine for now though.

Thanks!

I had the shop do the install. I was out the door for under $600 for the loaded enclosure, amp, wiring kit, and installation. I had the HU already installed last year. My shop also backs their installation for life which is nice peace of mind.

Yeah. I have a car audio shop near me, but they well known for not knowing what they are doing. I defintely would not trust my vehicle with them. Ive already got the Pioneer head unit installed and prewired for the amp and sub. Just got to wait on them to get here and put the sub and amp in. Should be a piece of cake.
