Interchangeable parts

There is a vintage mustange shop near me that I've been getting parts for my 66 from. The parts guy there isn't very knowledgeable on f100's so he doesn't really know what parts are interchangeable between the two so I was wondering if someone on here knew which parts I can easily swap between the two especially if the wiper switches and motors are.

Does your F100 have single speed or two speed wipers? What are the last six of your VIN??

In general not much is a direct swap but there are some things that with minimal tweaking will work.

I don't know if you are a modifier guy, but you can get a switch out of a 79 XLT with Delay, and get delay wipers. You do have to buy the module, and the motor, but delay wipers is nice, and it looks stock.

You can also use later 80 up switches and modules with slight modifications.

Some electrical parts are the same, mostly under the hood. Possibly trans parts, depending on which one you have. Besides that, next to nothing is the same.

So I was wondering if someone on here knew which parts I can easily swap between the two especially if the wiper switches and motors are.
The 1964/72 Ford Truck & 1965/72 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalogs are available on CD's from hipoparts.com for about 20 bucks each.

Where in CA do you live?

Excepting the wiper blades and the clip that retains the relay arms to the wiper motor, any year Mustang w/shield wiper parts are not the same as 1961/66 trucks.

1966 F100 w/a serial number of 748275.

Intermittant (delay) wipers were an option for ALL 1973/79 F100/350's & 1978/79 Bronco's. More commonly found in '73/79 Ranger XLT's and '78/79 Lariats.

The intermittant switch: (D1OZ-17A553-A is the the same for all.

EDIT: There are two different governors (modules): D3TZ-17C476-A = 1973/77 / D8TZ-17C476-A = 1978/79.

I dunno which one it is, I listed the TWO possibiles. You'll have to look at the wiring harness' plug to see which switch it takes.

On your wipers... I have the C3TZ17C455G single speed 5 terminal switch.

If there is no switch present, then look at the harness:

The factory two speed connector is a female 4-wire, "Vee-shaped" connector, while the single speed connector is a flat, 3-wire (two female, one male) connector.

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY in Arlington TX has ONE = 817-275-2381.

NOS PARTS SOURCE in Olathe KS has ONE = 913-220-5746.

HIGH BUCK!! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has ONE = 800-676-0675.

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Binghamton NY has ONE = 607-722-5371.

No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

I typed this same info several days ago, as another member was looking for this same switch, so one of the four listed above has most likely been sold.

Make SURE you need the two speed switch, because if it's wrong, you are prolly STUCK with it. Most sources will not take back obsolete parts once they are sold.

And...no one that I'm aware of, will take back electrical parts, obsolete or not.
