Good Morning Everybody!

I used to work for a sign company in Melbourne, Florida. It's been about a year since I've been there. (drove through it last year on vacation) Glad you made it ok, Rich.

I think I got all the outside work done. Now I can hibernate in the garage and build this engine a while. I'm going to take my time and get it right the first time. I plan on taking the rest of the week with it.

Happy Monday.

Rich, glad to hear you made it to FL. Bob, hope you and Tim enjoy that Escort much more than you liked the Chebby...

Rich, I'm glad to see you made it safe and sound.
Alan, good luck on making the engine assembly take all week, you'll have it done by Wednesday.
Unk Bob, glad to see you and Tim are making good progress on Tim's daily.
I bid the 68 Camaro and he said he's dropping it off the first week of January. Now if I could develop some patience with my coworkers lack of attention to detail here.

Glad you are safe and sound Rich. Been real bu as as of late. Been down to Beaver creek a bunch to get my gpas stuff taken care of. I havent had much time to work on ol big red. But I did move it so I can crawl under it on the concrete rather than out in the gravel. Couple questions.......

1) Can I take the front clip off if I have a welded on bumper? Dont want to start unbolting it if I cant move it forward but inly a few inches.
2) with my 9 plus inches of lift my steering seems not good enough...granted I havent had the truck running yet, but is there a better aftermarket system like the chevys have for better steering?
3) with my lift, I know my steering stabelizer (sp?) Angle or linkage isnt lined up, what is the correct way or aftermarket item I need to get it on?
Thanks, have tons more questions, but ill go with the ones I want to work on right now! Lol! Thanks in advance, Jeff

No sir, he does nothing so there's nothing done wrong here by him. Except his bloated salary.

D@mn license people!

Well I did TRY to get the escort licensed today. It did pass the Missouri State Inspection just fine, thought it would after a "Pre-Inspection" I did here at the house.
My brother and his wife's name were on the front of the title. Nothing was mentioned when we somewhat forged her name on the title, and the date of purchase was forged. BUT they did see that we didn't have a Lean Release for a car that was paid off 8 years ago.
SO after several phone calls, and $17.00 to make a COPY of the lean release, we get to hurry up and wait again.
I could have gottton a
Temp Tag" , but it cost's less to transfer tags that still have more than a year left. And I would have still had to transfer those same tags later!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I did get to drive the ZX2 down the hiway, it'll whip that Cavalier we had, no doubt in my mind!
I can allready for see another speeding ticket!
Just another Rant N Rave...

Sounds like you had the same luck I had trying to get my truck legal again. All in time, Bob.

Border, I sent you a PM. As far as the steering stabilizer, I fabbed brackets because the aftermarket stuff just doesn't work well with big lift. Also, with 38's on there you HAVE TO HAVE dual stabilizers. Reserve judgement on the steering until you have it running with the proper steering dampener. It may be fine.

As far as how I did today. I got most of the short block assembled. I probably would've gotten the pan bolted down if I didn't find ANOTHER rod I pressed on backwards. Then I dropped one of the timing cover screws down one of the lifter bores. ....sheesh. I'll get the pan bolted on tomorrow and start on the heads. That'll be the time consuming part.

Evening all.

Looks like everyone is staying pretty busy lately. Things have been pretty crazy here in the last couple of weeks. We're still jumping through hoops so we can get the state of AZ to place our nephew with us until his father can get his act together. You would not believe what one has to do to get qualified to have a foster kid. I'm glad that they are careful about who gets chosen, but geez, no wonder good people don't want to get involved in being a foster parent.

I also need to get my act together and start putting things together for a weekend trip out west to watch the Nationwide race out at Phoenix. My FIL is paying for the trip and didn't pay for an extra bag - so I need to get everything in a carry-on bag. Wish me luck...

Rich - I feel your pain trying to get packed up.

Was trying to copy & paste something from a Mopar site. The only computer I speak consists of four letter words , so I won't go into that here. I still don't understand (probably never will) how it can show up in the preview & not post.
