I got the new hub assembly in Tiff's car so it'll stop growling at her while she drives. I sat down and thought about what the problem was in the S-10. I never even opened the box for the ignition module. A light bulb went off and I pulled the distributor. Bingo! Distributor drive gear was worn. The new one will be here at 1500 (3:00)

I'm getting slower in my old age. I have to take my time and think things through when they used to come much faster a couple decades ago.

 

With the pain meds you have to deal with Alan - slowing down is to be expected.

Just got done touring the property on the Rhino - two of my kids are now afraid to go out with me again. Going to try to get started cutting some wood for the winter. I am so far behind that it looks like I'll be cutting all winter just to keep up.

Okay, somebody who speaks computer language explain this for me. It shows up in the preview & if I go back to edit, it's there. When I post it it disappears. Called "Help drive dollars to your local school". Has something to do with the boxtops from General Mills (That just doesn't look right FoMoCo sponsoring gm. Yeah, I know it's a TOTALLY different outfit, just the initials).

Good Sunday Morning MO

 

Good morning everyone...did that extra hour of sleep feel good? Change all those clocks? What a bother...

 

Extra hour of sleep? I just ended up getting up at the same time and realized it was an hour earlier. That just means I have an extra hour to get something done today.

 

1OFM, are you talking about the little 'threads' that appear in the main page of the MO chapter? They are just spam.

 

Tim and I are in the garage cleanning and adjusting brakes in order to get this parking break to hold the car. Breakes front and rear are good, rubber is good, we replaced a few bulbs, doing kind of a pre-inspection for it's mvi this next week. So far (prior state inspector) I think this little car will pass!
We did get the higher/pain in the buttox Christmas lights up yesterday while it's nice out. In the next few weeks we'll get the rest of the goodies out, extension chords everywhere. Then music loaded into the player for our light show!
Yes I do kind of get into these lights.

Since I've been dragging my feet on this engine, I finally got after it. I have all the rods cleaned up and the new pistons mounted. After I'm done with lunch, I'll see if I can get the short block together.

 

The guy came and paid me for the S-10. He's happy again.

I also only got four of the pistons and rods dropped in. I stamped number three rod backwards somehow, but I caught it before I tried to slide the piston in. So I had to flip the rod around the other way before I could slide it in.

Then I had trouble getting number four rod past number three and mated to the crank. I got it finally, but gave up and came in. I can feel myself getting tired and irritable, and that's no way to be assembling a rotating assembly.

 

Well we did get the ZX2 cleaned up inside, passenger side, side view mirror replaced, brother bought it, never put it on. Brakes are cleaned, and adjusted so the parking brake holds the car. Tim got it vacuumed, wiped down inside, and glass done inside.
I'm finishing up a rather large picture of "Jungle Juice" my neighbor Tom made abd brought over for me/us.
Getting ready for the rain that we're supposed to see for the next few day's. Guess it'll be time to "Mr. Mom" it again. Getting cooler, and then damp out...... I'm gonna be at Alan's trying to get in that wheel chair!
Need to get to the O.C. and work out a bit, then get into that pool, and just "Jones Out"......

Well folks I made it to Melbourne Florida in my company picked Jeep Liberty rental and will be in a beach front Hilton for a while. It's late, been a long day and day one with the new company starts early tomorrow.
