That's good stuff, Chip! Of course you know it didn't happen without pictures!

I got one head torn down and all the bits and pieces cleaned up. I'll lap the valves back in and reassemble everything tomorrow and bolt it down.

I decided to break this engine in on a test stand. As soon as I get it finished, I have some round tube to build a test run stand for it. I've been meaning to build one anyway. It'll also be a useful tool to help me tune carburetors. (if I find a cheap running small block.)

So I only got one tooth pulled today, the told me I had I to pay up front that my ins would pay me back. Only had $150 to spend $49 for 1st visit $69. After I got my one tooth pulled, went to pay out bill was only $13.68 Guess my INS covered the rest!

Pics of the underneath side to be posted Friday. I got home last night and was out like a light, too durn tired to even eat supper. Tonight I have to get the bedsides on the 75 Chevy block sanded out for the final time and hopefully finish the shaping of the fender lip on the 68 coupe fender. We'll start with the RPU cab though.

Rich, those pics look like you were having some fun.

Alan, good luck on getting the heads done and the run in stand built. Fabricating and building engines just might be your niche. At least you wouldn't be on your feet constantly.

Good Morning Everybody!

I posted this earlier, but I don't see what I wrote now. What's up with that?

Anyway, I'll be heading out to the garage in a little while to see if I can get the cylinder head I started on yesterday, bolted up today. I'm also gonna see if I can do a little horse trading at Doc Holiday's pawn and gun. I have a 30-30 I haven't fired in years. (I keep it cleaned and oiled, though) I want to see if I can trade it for a .22 rifle for Kasie.

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.” The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?” The boy takes the quarters and leaves. “What did I tell you?” said the barber. “That kid never learns!” Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. “Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?” The boy licked his cone and replied, “Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!”
