When I put the zf5 in my 85 I used a 7.3 single masss conversion on the 6.9, and had no issues. I reason I used the 7.3 flywheel is I couldn't come up with the right clutch for the zf. The 6.9 uses 6 bolts to hold the pressure plate to the flywheel, while the 7.3 uses 8.
do i have to remove the fly wheel to get the 1 inch spacer off,do i need any speical tools wheel puller or something? never took one off anything before advise welcome
What spacer are you talking about? The one between the engine and transmission? I don't think you need to take the flywheel off, but not sure... Why do you need to remove it?
