At the end of the training period we went to Ft.Worth and were judged on condition and their ability to handle an in-hand trail class - with required maneuvers such as loading in a trailer, picking up feet, crossing a bridge, etc. There were about 50 yearlings in my age class there, and (not to brag, but) both of mine placed in the top ten.

On the last day of the competition adoptions were held for all of the mustangs at the event and both of these boys found new homes. Which was the whole point - get them to an adoptable state, as not everyone is confortable dealing with a completely wild horse. It was a smashing success, and has morphed into a national competition held in several different states throughout the year. I no longer compete though, they limited the adults to riding horses only and I'm not interested in breaking a bronc. But I loved starting the babies with their ground work.

As a side note, I received a $500 discount on my truck by being an AQHA member too. Just had to show my card!
That's a great story and a great thing that you do. Congrats.

Mine is named Red Wind

The name originally came from a movie about a shredding machine for tree branches, but I liked the name for this truck.

I hadn't planned on naming her in fact in a previous post I stated that we just called her "the truck". If I had to pick a name since she is an F-250 I guess "Deuce and a half" would be appropriate

My orange and black 1979 F-250 is named "Tigger"
My 1989 F-350 is named "Rusty"
and our 1981 Ford CL9000 with a V8 Detroit is "Hillbilly Hotrod"

although I like my fathers trucks name. His 2000 F-350 dually 7.3 has a Banks 6 gun stacked with a banks Big Hoss chip. So we call it "Hoss"

Too late to resurrect??

Is it too late to resurrect this post? I've gone from my 6.7L 2011 King Ranch F-250 FX4 4x4 aka the Big White Beast to my 6.7L 2015 King Ranch F-250 FX4 4x4 aka the Big White Beast 2.0, my son named her.

Then 2011

Now 2015
