Extended Warranties
Long time since I have visited the superduty forum. I’m happy to see that Monsta is still moderating. My V10 is doing fine although gas prices are starting to hurt. I'm at the 30 months, 34000 miles and would like recommendations on extended warranties, pricing, and thoughts on factory or aftermarket plans.
Thanks,
neal

Take a close look at the fine print on any extended warranty. I was offered one when I purchased my F-350. The fine print stated that " V-10, V-12, Turbocharged or Supercharged engines were NOT covered."
The saleswoman was suprised and a little embarrassed when I pointed that out. I believe that she probably didn't know .
The point being, read the fine print.

I checked with my local dealer and the Ford Extendey Warrenty does cover PSD and will cover the new Super 150. ( I don't remember the name). But Bob you are right, some of the other after market warrenties do not cover the Turbocharger or Supercharged motors.

Extended Warranties
I bought a program vehicle and was sold an extended warranty.
The dealership claimed it was better , even though it was not a "factory extended warranty". At 60,K the transmission went out. The only thing that got this outfit to pay for the repairs was the fact that I had performed every "suggested maitenance"from the day I bought it and had to prove it. The selling dealership did all the maintenance, but they had ripped me off ,so I had the repairs done at a new facility. The new facility was not familiar with this warranty company and I didn't think they were going to pay. I don't know how to determine which ones will pay before you have trouble! I guess you can file suit if they don't pay, but that will cost money. Also many warranty companys will only pay if something breaks, if it wears out they won't pay,I ran across that one several years ago. The valves burnt within the mileage and time frame, but they still wouldn't pay, because nothing broke. Repairs are so expensive and the average "shade tree' can't do them anymore, but I really don,t know where a person could buy an extended warranty and have total faithin it!
