Dana 44 axle pull

Dana 44 axle pull
Would like to pull the axle on this dana 44 rear end.My question is After using a slide hammer to take off. To put back together is the question . What is going to take Bfh or ?? I will replace the flange seal / gasket .I am doing this to get off the backing plates to clean and paint new hardware and wheel cylinders.Any help out there thanks again . George in Texas

Theoretically, the axle shafts should just pull out of the housing after removing the bolts on the retainer plate, but sometimes the bearings do get stuck inside and need a little extra effort to remove them. But they will push back into place when you're ready to put it back together. Just be sure everything is clean and free of rust and debris.
