starting issue

Over the past few weeks my truck has been difficult to start, but it would eventually start. This would only happen on the mornings when it was colder. This morning it just wont start. (it is the coldest it has been) It turns over but just does not start. Also it does not throw any codes.

Any ideas on what could be causing this? I am at a total loss as to what the problem is. its not the IAC i replaced it not to long ago and i just got done taking it off and cleaning it.

my truck is a 2001 5.4 l gas just hit 199,900 miles

I would suspect either the fuel pressure regulator or pump assembly allowing the fuel to drain back to the tank.
I would test the fuel pressure at cold start-up. It should come up to around 40-42psi when you turn the key on after a second or two.
If you don't have access to a gauge, you can try to turn the key to run for about 2 seconds, then turning it back off 5 or 6 times, then try to start it and see if it starts right up. If so, then you have a bad check valve in either the regulator or the fuel pump assembly.

also dont know if it would have an effect but looking back it seems that the only time i had trouble starting was when i parked on a slope with the front of the truck uphill
