New 6.2L Break In
#16
The heaver springs and shocks makes sense. Once again option confusion sets in. I am getting heaver front springs (maybe shocks too) with the camper package along with rear springs and a rear stabilizer bar. Either the camper package or one of the other packages added the 200A alternator. For my situation, I was guessing that all I got for the $80 was a bigger fan. I don't know if the radiator is bigger. All we can do is take best guesses. It certainly is an interesting way to run a company/industry.
I am much more comfortable talking and working on my 1931 Coupe, updraft carburetor, no oil filer, no air filter, manual spark advance, manual air/gas mix, mechanical brakes and all!
PS The only reason I'm getting the truck is to haul the 31 to places too far to drive it comfortably.

I have never seen anything about a larger fan or radiator either except the email from a sales manager at a local dealership.
Doing the online "build" thing, the snow plow pkg knocks out some of the camper pkg stuff and another Ford dealership sales guy researched the issue and sent me a copy of some Ford document that states that the plow pkg can be had with any of the other packages.
I ended up ordering a 2014 250 Lariet with a camper and a plow pkg. This would be a serious problem if I had not over-built for what I need. The only thing that made any sense was getting the bi-fuel pkg because it provides a better built engine.
Wonder what I will get!

Anyone notice more rear end sag on the 250's with the hd. front end?
I'm looking @ a 2013 and it sits dead level empty.
I'm afraid it will squat like hell with the 5th wheel hitched.
I really like the way the truck's optioned out, but it just doesn't
seem 1200lbs of dry hitch weight should be a concern.
Well, it is. I guess I'd like to know is this a typical 250 trait?

Hi,
I wanted to suggest for weak rear leaf spring overloads the StableLoad suspension upgrade. Airbags are great for lift, but these will improve sag, sway and drivability while towing or hauling.
They are definitely a low cost, effective solution to consider before airbags. StableLoads
