I think I finally found wheels!

Hello all,

After hours of searching I think I finally found wheels I can use on my 1951 F1. I was hunting a basic 5 star design in a 17" wheel with about a 4.5 inch backspacing. Most of the 5 star wheels are for bewer vehicles and have about 6 inches of backspacing and I think that would hit the front leaf spring when the wheel was turned, not to mention suspension travel.

Do you guys think these wheels would look good on a 51 F1, anyone using them?

P.S. The truck is converted to the 5x4.5 or 5x114.3 mm bolt pattern.

Is your truck custom or more original? IMO it would have to be somewhat custom to pull of those wheels.

What brakes and suspension are you using up front? I bought steel wheels from US Wheel....I had to call them to get the inside diameter specs to make sure that they'd clear the disk brake calipers.

Those are the exact rims I got for my dodge charger(stock 20 size). It's the wifes car so she picked the rims. I have had them for a year with no curb accidents. The clear coat is already peeling a little and the black powdercoat is coming off in the lugnut area.

Just thought I would tell you my experience. As far as style, I like the simple five spoke look but went with a much pricier wheel.

The truck isnt really custom but does have some modifications. I bought a kit from TCI to install all new rear suspension and leaf springs and put a fotd 9" with rear disc brakes over top of the spring dropping the rear about 4". I have posie super slide springs up front with a 3" drop with a power brake setup and front disc brakes, rotors might be from a ranger or something like that. As far as the bisy goes it is fairly stock.

I am really disappointed to hear the wheels are falling apart after that short of a period of time. I am not dead set on that wheel I just want a 5 star with about 4.5" of backspacing.

Those may look ok. Not into the large wheel look, but these wheels have a classic flair to them. Kinda remind me of Magnum 500 wheels. Hey- what about a set of Magnum 500s?? That might look interesting on your truck and I bet you could get them in a backspace more to your liking.
