Parking brake cable.

I'm doing a rear brake job on my 92 f150 and i'm having trouble getting the parking brake cable back into into the parking brake lever on the shoe. Any help is appreciated.

if you already hooked up the springs that hold the shoes in place then you have to undo the one that has the park brae lever on it.

i find that grabbing the cable and wedging a pair of needle nose pliers in between the spring and the **** on the end of the cable will allow you to be able to pull the cable out of the spring a bit and grab the cable with the needle nose to give a big enough gap to slide over the bracket....

not sure if hat helped of not but good luck

Haynes book doesn't even mention hooking the cable back to the lever. I've fought with it for an hour, this may be the help I need. thanks

Pull the spring back with a pair of wire cutters then clamp down on then just enough to hold the sping , install and release....

And wear shop goggles.

Every time I've worked on my rear brakes, I've always had little tiny rust flakes flung at me.

I finally got it...

got it on twice, actually. Once the wrong way, and once the correct way. And what did I learn from this experience? I learned to not unhook the thing unless absolutely necessary.

I used a screwdriver to separate the spring from the end, then twisted the screwdriver to give enough space to slip it in the slot. What fun!
