Engine block heater... got a part number for a 03?

I'm looking for a part number for the cord for the engine block heater for an 03 F250. I looked around on the forums, but I'm not computer savvy so if someone could give me a link or a part number for the cord to the block heater that would be awesome.

Z3500043 is the International #. Not sure about Ford's.

You can pick them off ebay also.

Did yours short out?

no it didn't short out. It just didn't come installed on the truck unfortunately. I have a wire going to the front bumper that I found when I put my plow on that has three wires bundled in a flat wire. Not sure if that's the connector or not, but I know it doesn't have the actual block heater cord.

Strange, all the 03's came equipped.

Any way, you should be able to get one as stated above. Ford will want a bunch of money for theirs. Might try Tousley Ford, and give them a call and see what they would charge for one.

Here is an article on routing one.

or at least I don't think it came installed. I just read that they weren't installed 05 and newer? thought it was when they switched to the 6.0 that they stopped installing them. Anyways, I guess I'll have to look under the truck again in the morning.

do you know where I would find the cord on my 03 then? I had the whole bumper off when I installed my plow mount and didn't see it other than one cord that looks like it was routed about the same as the one in the link, but it ended with just a 3 hole plug (flat cord 3 wires with 3 holes. sorta like this ==> [•••]

That sounds like the block heater cord. It should be on the frame rail, passenger side. I'd suggest against using FleaBay, most of those "will fit" cords are made in China and the element end aren't shaped the same as the OEM. Both the Navistar & Ford cords are made by the same vendor; should have "Canada" molded in the male plug/bumper end of the cord. Here are a couple of part numbers:

Navistar 1686485C91
Ford 4C4O6B018AA

I've also seen these mentioned...but I have no knowledge about them.

Navistar
2015503C91
3570726C91
1688039C91

Ford
4C4O6B018BA
4C4O6B018CA

Sounds like some forgot to unplug the truck before driving away.

Never seen that style of plug before. Reach above the starter as shown in the article. If it has one, you will feel it.

When I went looking for mine on my 04, I had to look 3 times. Mine was covered with the black plastic protective stuff, and twisted in a bunch. Really, that sucker was tough to find. But, since you had your bumper off, you would have noticed it. No one has ever said there maybe was some sort of extension through that kind of plug you see.

Anyway, start at the beginning, and see what you come up with.

My truck was 5 years old, and the cord had never been used.

Yes, that's the block heater cord...looks like someone forgot to unplug it before driving way. You can either (A) get a new male end and wire it on there (I have no clue which wire is hot, ground, neutral) or (B) get a new cord. The Navistar part was last reported as $40 at a couple of International dealerships.
