As far as I knew you were only supposed to run 5w40 so thats all I have ever run (Rotella T) and no I havent, im not even sure how to go about that.

I'll more than likely get flamed by this, but...you can run 15W40 if it's going to be above 40F. You don't have to, and running that same weight oil that you have been year round is fine. I run Mystic 15W40 most of the year...mainly because it's cheaper than Rotella T and it's easier for me to get at my local farm/ranch store. When it starts getting cold (below 35F-40F) I start plugging the truck in. It will still start down in the single digits unplugged...but it isn't happy and the neighbors complain about the noise/smell.
