My rig is our only vehicle as well. My commute is 43 miles round trip, about 75% is freeway. I'm averaging about 50 miles per day with all my other family duties.

2000 with 140k on it. Not only is it my daily driver but its also my tow truck for my Jeeps. I bought it specifically to make my Wrangler a dedicated trail rig and tow it around but I have a cherokee too!

I drive roughly 30 miles a day to work and back + whatever else.

Mine has recently (back in March) become my daily commute vehicle.

Round trip of 44-47 miles depending on which way I go. One full tank per week. Works out to around $360 per month in gas, at around 10-11 MPGs. Most of the trip is under 40 miles an hour, and stop-and-go, only about 5 miles of it is highway speed.

No matter how I cut it, even if I got a vehicle that got 22 mpgs (NOT HIGHWAY, but stop-and-go around-town), I would only save $180 or so a month. So I'd still be spending $180/month on gas, plus the payment for a new vehicle, which is bound to be more than $200/month.

Meanwhile, I get to drive a V10

Mine is also a daily driver. I only drive 5 miles to work but I go home for lunch so about 20 miles a day. But it gets much better milage then my wifes car. Of course a 428FE never was about MPG but how fast can it move that big ol Thunderbird down the road.

Daily driver here, too (except for when I can ride the Shadow). For the past year and a half my commute was about a 4.5 mile round trip. But, we just moved the office last month. So now, it's less than two miles round trip.

What sucks is that my fuel economy is way down. I doubt I'm getting 6 mpg going back and forth to work. I was thinking that something was wrong with the truck until I realized that the poor thing never gets a chance to warm up now, unless it's idling in the driveway in the morning. And that's not helping things, either. But, it's still getting 14-15 on the highway, so I don't think anything's wrong with it. I guess I'll just have to suffer with buying two gallons of gas a week for my commute.

That's hilarious! Best description of Alaska I've heard in a long time.

By the way, I'm stealing the quote.
