UPDATE ON 51
Well the 15th was the dead line and my green truck still ain't painted. Had a long talk with my cuz today and he said the cab will be done next week. Guess we will see if it happens and if not i'm loading it all up and taking it somewere that will get it done. I spent 75 bucks filing the papers on him today so little does he know i'm going to sue his a$$ anyway. I'm going to put HIPPO tinted bed liner in the bed [meadow green] and running boards [black] Plan on buffing the chrome grill out 2mor. and installing the magic air i got from fristrider [denny] in it sunday. should have some liner to spair so i'm going to use a roller and paint the floor. Only thing that won't have new paint is the firewall and dash but they still look good. The glovebox/speaker grill/ashtay are painted black i was thinking about painting it silver. WHAT DO YALL THINK ? Then it will match the heater from denny. Any one ever took someone to small claims court and how long before ya got your money ?

Well if Florida law is like Alabama law you may never get your money. Here when you take someone to small claims court you only get a verdict. They do not collect your money. That is up to you through legal means. Several years ago I had to take a scumbag to court who ripped me off for $1800.00. He was suppose to build me a metal shop. I paid a 1/3rd up front. He came out poured the concrete pad brought out a pile of steel beams and never came back. Dodged me for 4 months. I filed a claim and paid my 75 dollars. Got a court date and he never showed up. I won the case and the Judge said I could now garnish his wages. He worked for himself and usually did cash jobs. So how was I going to collect on that? About a year later a buddy of mine let me know that the scumbag was back in our area and doing a big remodel job on a business here in town. I was working part time at the Sheriffs office at that time so I called up the constable and explained my problem to him. He told me they usually only collect 25% at a time but in my case let him see what he could do. Not only did he serve the scumbag for the full amount (which was $1500.00 plus filing fee) he also served the company papers that they could not pay scumbag 1 thin dime on the job he was doing until he had settled up with me!
So I was out $1875.00 plus a year and a half of headaches. But I got a concrete slab a pile of steel (that I sold for 150 bucks) and $1575.00. And to top it off the guy that put me on scumbag felt so bad that he brought his crew out and built my shop for just cost of materials. I think in all total, all I had in the 24X24 was $2200.00. He normally only did really big jobs like industrial stuff not residential jobs. Sorry for the long story but that still strikes a nerve with me. Hope you get your money.

Hey Dale,
I could see an A/C being life or death in Florida but a Magic Aire heater?
We lived in an apt. in Ft. Lauderdale for 3 years before we realized they didn't even bother to put any heat in it. How's your green truck looking these days? I love your yellow truck - been an inspiration.

I'M still hopeful he said the cab would be done next week but he still owes me more than a paint job. So not going to serve him for two more weeks. So i'll be at the shop everyday until it gets done. BEFORE I got hurt i worked shutdowns [pipefitter/welder] and things had to be done a day before the deadline. WE had a few sayings[you ain't here to look and learn its time to turn and burn.] [ If you are waiting on me you are backing up] YALL get the idea !! What ever it takes it will get done !!!!!

I would check out what winning a small claims case in your state really means. A guy ran into our car many years ago and like a big dummy I tried to work it out with him outside of the insurance company. When he started telling me to go to the junk yard and look for the parts myself I decided to take him to small claims court. I won the judgement for about $600. He promised in front of his attorney to make three payments. I never saw a dime. Was not a binding judgment and I decided not to pursue ganishing the wages. I even had the note from him stating he did it and NEVER GOT PAID!
