Excursion Lift Kits / Which One?

Looking for feedback from you guys who have installed 4'' to 6'' of lift on your
leaf sprung X's. Ride quality, comfort and actual lift clearance are my
main objectives I'm looking for feed back on. Awesome site here and you
guys have some awesome trucks and X's. Any advice greatly appreciated
and thanks in advance.

2000 Ford Excursion 4x4
Priority Preferance & Goals

1. I want to run 37's with the minimal amount of lift.

2. If I go with a 4'' I want to run 35's on 18'' wheels.

3. If I go with a 6'' I want to run 37's on 18'' wheels.

Well if you want 37's your gonna need at lease a 6". They say the more leaves the better the ride. When I get up some money I will be going to a BDS or fabtech springs.

if you want 4" x codes and a shackle kit up front blocks in back..
6" go with a pro comp kit and get good shocks.. the amount of leafs does not help the ride. its all in the spring rate. i have x codes and im running 315's on my x. and i will add if you dont have the 7.3 in it you will want to run v codes and not x codes

I thought there was someone on here who successfully installed
a 5" lift and is runnin 37's but I'm not sure what thread I saw it in.
I do remember it was a greyish-blue excursion with 37'' Kumho's. Anyhow I'm kinda leaning
toward the Procomp 6'' kit with the fox reservoir shocks. The tech at 4wheelparts
told me that the procomp 6'' kit actually nets 5'' after the install

My X has the 415c.u. V10 in it. Right now procomp's 4'' & 6'' kit is
priced at $1,545 at my front door, it seems like a decent deal. Anyone agree?

Get cut out flares and run 37s on stock suspension

or get a 6" lift and cut outs and run 44" boggers

for $1500 your getting the fox res shocks right? if so yes thats about right shipped. and remember, excursion 4" lift = 4" lift.. a f250-350 4" lift on a excursion is 6". 6" f250-350 is 7-8" on an excursion

So which is better, the excursion lift or the F250-350 lift? Is there any difference price wise or is one better than the other? Thanks

Yes, Excursion is 2" less than F250/350......you can put F250 leveling springs on the front and 2" add a leaf on the rear and net a 4" lift

You just need to remember that if you buy a F250/350 lift it will be 2 inches higher on the Ex......I expect you will find better pricing on the 250/350 lifts....more of them....I would also expect a stiffer ride.....mine is.....maybe someone else can comment on an Ex designed lift for the ride quality......alot of Procomp guys out there running 6" Ex lifts.

If you decide to go with a 4" lift you might want to check BDS. I have the BDS 4" all spring lift and like it a lot. I'm running 35s on 18" wheels.....

I found my 6" SD lift to ride better on the excursion than on my f350 reg cab long box 5.4....it weighs about 1000 pounds more

Hello GOTGIG,

I have a 2004 X V10 4x4, which will get a ProComp 4" suspension lift (I don't want larger than that). I will get Moto Metal MO951 Chrome wheels, 20x10, 8/170, ET -18, BSM 4.79.

QUESTION: I want to mount 35"x12.5" Nitto Trail Grapplers (315x60/R20) but I am not sure whether tires this size create rubbing issues (leafs, fender, undercarriage, etc.)?

I am not planning to go offroad but stay on paved roads. I also would not mind minor rubbing at full turn.

What are your views?

so just for clarity, i can run any leaf spring lift kit from a F252/350 on a 4x4 excursion?

newbie question, i know, but i found it on a search thread if that helps, lol
