Sirius Radio Renewal - Any deals out there
#16
After I bought the Radio's I purchased dock kits for both of them off Amazon for like $20 each... This included the dock, antenna, power cable and a FM antenna wire I didn't need. It's supposed to improve reception via your FM radio. I had mine hooked up via my MP3 plug on my factory radio so didn't use the FM transmitter in the SAT radio's.
It works out great... I have docks in all our vehicles (3) and I can move the sat radio from vehicle to vehicle. This was the only option I could come up with once my Ram subscription expired as I was not gonna pay $300 just to listen to radio...
I had to have my daily fix of BTLS tho.
Of course he's no longer on Sirius so I don't listen to sat much anymore.

I read an article not to long ago that Sirius lost a million+ subscribers when he left.
Thats gotta hurt
It would of been cheaper for Sirius to just renew his contract then loose upwards of a million subscribers....
Kinda like the crap Netflix just pulled jacking everyone's rates.... It didn't take me long to cancel them...as soon as that first bill arrived at almost double.
With some of the stupid things businesses are doing now-a-days.... Some just don't deserve my dollars.

I had stock as well and dumped it as soon as Bubba said he was outta there. I figured the stock would take a dive when he was gone and boy was I right... Very happy I sold when I did.

Was that the total annual price or did they tack on their "taxes and fees"? My subscription is about to expire and $55 for a year is about the lowest I've see yet!

+1. I've cancelled every year since '05 and every year I get a call-back from the retention dept that offers the $80-$85 deal for a year.

I waited for mine to run out after a year subscription at about $77. They called and said that was a one time only offer, so I told them to just cancel my subscription, as I would not pay $140 + for something I don't listen to that often anyways. Here I am 6 months later and still no more offers for renewal. I'd pay another 77 for a year if they offered it, but not more.

I checked out Sirrius and XM about 5 years ago and wound up going with XM for alittle over $14 a month for two receivers. Bought the dock for the vehicles. I was real happy with the XM. The price was good, there wasn't a lot of talk by DJ's on the music channels, and there were more channels than Sirrius had to offer. Since the merger of Siirius and XM, I have not been that happy with the service. The first thing they did was raise the subscription fee to $11.86 per receiver per month. The following year they increased the rate to $13 per receiver per month and changed over to Sirrius format with Sirrius channels and the DJ's constant talk. And in January they are going to raise the rate to $15 each per month. Since I don't like the format and the price has doubled in the last 3 years, they've lost me. I'll not be renewing. I'll begin using the MP3 or playing CD's on trips.
