hey people got my 2011 platnium with the 5.0 moter in september, last couple of weeks i have noticed that this engine has been knocking pretty badly, mostly on up hill climbs, slow rolling type hills and several times when i went to gas it. the manual suggests 87 octane but im wondering if there is a another issue going on here any suggestions?
last tank full i ran 93 octane no issues filled up today with 87 knocking is back thought this engine was designed to run on 87 and with all this knocking should i be worried about engine damage. also someone suggested i run the 87 with a bottle of octane booster dont feel too good about doing that
no i live pretty close to sea level, also ive noticed latety in the morning it sometimes starts hard, my other truck which had the 5.4 motor ran well on the 87 octane this is puzzles me and concerns me since it is a new engine gonna definitly pay a visit to the dealer on this issue
