personally I like the Road Armor rear pumpers that I have seen on the 99+ Ford trucks... Google them and google "Truck rear bumper" select the "image" tab off google and you'll get 100's of bumper pics to look at.
as far a utilitarian a big piece of tube, steel plate, and a welder is all you need...
