to have a heater or not
Hey guys. I usually hang out in the '73 - '79 forum but I didn't get much response to this question there so I thought I would try here.
I have a '79 short box flareside that I am redoing and I'm not sure I want to put the heater back in or not.
I will only be driving it in the summer and only on nice days.
My motivation for doing it is to clean up the firewall.
I would like to hear from people that have removed them and if you regret it or if you would do it again.
By the way, I live in Alberta so 100 degree weather is not an issue and the only time humidity would be an issue is if it's raining and I hope to never get caught in the rain with it.

Personally, Worse comes to worse, you can get a heater/blower combo from Summit or the like and install that at a later date. The one I have fits underneith the dash on the passenger side without taking up foot room. Only real drawback is that I only have two outlets, one of which blows up through the defrost vent and the other blowing twards the floor in the middle of the dash. Nothing big but it works fine.
