Diagnose: Grinding when turning left hard
I have a 99 F-250 4x4 CC SB v10 211,000m with a grinding sound when I turn hard left at speeds 15-70+ mph. It is louder when I give the truck throttle and less when coasting.
I had the Ford dealer tech ride with me and he thought the RF tire was rubbing the leaf, but this cannot be the case, since the paint was intact and I am not touching the leaf at 70+ mph. I have tried this with the hubs engaged and with them free, with no difference noticed.
I have recently done the hub bearings, ball joints and auto lockout hubs. It is a pre-march of 99, but I switched the hubs and rotors to the post march design (which means the rotor do not instantly warp as they used to).
I think the chassis is flexing enough to make the rear driveshaft vibrate, anyone else have an ideas?
Thanks -
