Tires & Wheels Advise

I've been looking to buy new tires and wheels for my 89 f150. Was going to buy 16 inch wheels but don't think it's worth the price difference. Anyone used a 265/70/15 on one of these models, if so were there any problems.

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Best sizes to use are probably either 31x10.50-15 or 265/75/15 as these are more common sizes. The 265/70/15 would work fine, but it's not as common of a size.

265/75r15 is a stock tire size. My Bronco has them no issues. Its mathematically the same size as a 31x10.50 too.

My truck came stock with 235/75/15. I was looking to go with a little larger tire.

from what i can figure out if the trucks came with a factory tow package it came with the 235/75/15, if it didn't have the tow package it came with 265/75/15
my dads 91 xlt 4x4 had tow pgg with 235
my old 92 xlt 4x4 w/o tow pkg had 265
my current 95 xlt 4x4 with tow pkg has 235.

EDGETHIS : does your bronco have factory tow pkg? if its stock with 265 im guessing it didnt

The calibration decal on the drivers door pillar will tell you what size tire is stock for your truck, but for the most part 235/75-15 are most common on F150s while 265 or 31's were more common on the Broncos.
If you want to use a larger diameter aftermarket wheel it's just as well to go to 17" now as that is far more common than 16" and there are lots more tires to pick from, these wheel/tire combos won't be as cheap as the good ole 15's though.

I think its what Conanski said, most Broncos I've seen have 265's stock.

Jlckb5- Why are you wanting 16's? Any reason or just want something bigger?
