Thanks everyone for your advice. They were asking $7100 for the truck, Way, Way too expensive considering all I've learned. I agree its better to buy a cheapie and fix it up myself and know what has been done.

Thanks again

Wow, that's way too much even if it was all original and in perfect condition, and there wasn't any question about the mileage. You can find a much newer and nicer truck for that price.

nonrev321, why not start looking close to home, just check here and the near by towns everyday. Sooner or latter you will find a good truck, and we can help you determine whether to buy it or not.

KD0AXS: You're right about that being too much, I gave less than that for my 97 in 2005.. You can check my garage pictures, and see it's no rust bucket.. Those pictures were taken the day after I brought it home from the Ford dealership lot. The one with the trailer was about two months ago..

That price is nuts, the truck no way has that low mileage-the odo rolled over.

Ex: my buddy has an 86 bronco, the odo only goes to 99,999 and then flips over. If we were to believe the odo he currently has 51,000 miles lol.

I wouldnt touch that truck with as 10 foot pole, look elswhere.

That ad said that there was 57270 miles on the truck. Every expensive for a non stock truck of that vintage . Pull a carfax report if still interested.

The op said he had run carfax. No way would I fly across the country and pay 7K for that thing. Cost another grand for gas to get home. They'll be lucky to get 2k for that.

THEY ARE LIARS , CHEATS , STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE !
average miles per year is around 12,000 - 14,000 x that by 24 year years and you get 288,000 miles ! consider that it might have sat through the winters up there ( unlikely ) and you may get 144,000 miles !

I see stuff like this everyday here on FTE. Peeps say they find low mileage vehicles, but they do not take into consideration two things.

1) The odometers read to 99,999.9 then return to ZERO

2) Crooked used car dealers have engaged in the illegal practice of rolling back the odometers since day one (1900's).

Ha! I called up the dealer and told them I wouldn't be coming out there and that the CARFAX report did not support the stated mileage on their sales advertisement. They acted all surprised that it was actually such a high milage vehicle.

Still looking for a decent F-250, years 87 -89 4WD, 4 or 5 speed manual, would prefer the 351 but would go with the 460 if needed

Thanks everyone
