A4OD Tranny problems

Sorry it is a E4OD not a A4od
I have a 1993 F250 which is doing the following:
Not shifting into overdrive either with the switch or by itself
stalling when putting into reverse
shifting hard from first to second (this problem goes away if I disconnect battery and reset the computer)

I was doing a tune up by replacing the plugs, wires, cap and rotor when this problem started.

Any ideas or help would be greatfully appericated

There should be a code stored in the computer, have it scanned. The code will help you fix it.

As jk080 said ...

I did a tune up and got the same issue. No code but also only lasted for two days when the trans came out of limp mode. I wish I knew what did it....

Had the tranny coded but no codes came up however once I got it home I dropped the pan and the filter was down a bit and there was a build up in the pan on the magnet in the bottom. Put new filter and fluid and it seems to be running fine. I need to have the tranny looked at I think for the build up on the magnet

You may be ok. If the magnet was never cleaned off and the truck is running fine, I would wait a month and then check the magnet. A little build up is ok, but not a lot. Save the shavings that were on the magnet if it's not too late. The transmission tech will want to see them.
