Took the Oil Change splash

Took the Oil Change splash
Even with the great Epic video I was a bit nervous to change the oil. I did not have the benefit of a leveling lift and larger wheels/tires and I'm a larger man (just shy of 300) so I didn't have the room like Epic did in the video. So things did start with a splash.
When I tapped the old oil filter with a nail I didn't get it into the inner level so more of a mess when taking the filter off.
It was a good learning experience. Actually can't wait to do it next time and fix the things I could have done better.

Good for you WK for giving it a try. . .and better yet for your willingness to give it a go again.
Even with my 20" wheels I run the front tires onto a couple 2x8 blocks. The extra height allows me to easily slide a 5 gallon bucket under the truck which works well to contain any oil splash. I put a lid on the bucket and take it to the recycler - simple.
Also check out Epic's other video where he uses a large sharpened punch to make a good size hole in the oil filter. I think the larger the punch the better to get all the oil out.
It gets easier with each change.
Good luck.

I have a punch and even bought some more with the idea of sharpening one of the larger ones but don't have a wheel. I work at a shipyard so I'll get someone there to sharpen one.
Next task, draining fuel filter.

I wouldn't worry so much about keeping the truck level since the oil drains out the back of the pan. Elevating the front will only help completely drain the oil especially on an F350 which already sits several inches lower in the front.
I used a punch on the filter last time, but I think I am going to make up a different tool just for this task. I have a few large, sharp timber spike nails lying around so I'm going to weld a handle of sorts onto the head of one. It will be just a another nail or something fashioned into an L shape. This way I won't have to deal with the imminent oil dribble that comes down the punch as soon as you puncture the filter. The only thing I hate worse than used motor oil is used gear oil!
