Not the s/s wheels, but I thought these were retro enough looking...
Spacers and uni lugs are a no go for me.

Yeah, you can't machine an S/S, at least not a true Cragar, the center is aluminum, die cast if I recall correctly. It will weaken the wheel.

Cragar S/S wheels for our trucks are not unilug. The 5x5.5 pattern and the 5x5 pattern are that pattern only. The unilugs are 5x4.5 & 5x4.75 and I believe that's the only way you can get them. Maybe some early wheels are one pattern only, but everything I've seen in the last 30 years in that small pattern is unilug.

As far as those being retro, while I like them very much and considered them, they are most definitely not retro. But then again, I grew up in the 70's when these trucks were new. And you're not going to get a S/S on a 4x4 anyway, the hub hole is too small, so this is sort of a thread jack. But you have a very nice looking truck, same color as my dad's company trucks of this era. 1980 no longer offered this color combo so he went metallic brown and white.

HOPEFULLY!!!! Next weekend. I just got the driver's hub installed night before last. The passenger side is done, I just need to install the new pads and put the caliper back on, if the storms aren't too bad tonight, I'll finish sandblasting the hardware for both calipers and get them painted. I still have to finish cleaning up the driver's side caliper and get it painted. I'm not doing a full on rust removal, I'm just using the knotted wire cup brush on a 4" angle grinder, smoothing out a bit with a 2" Roloc disc on an air angle die grinder and shooting some high temp black paint on them, same as I did with the hubs.

I got paid today on my side job so I can afford to get the tires, Cooper Cobra 295/50-15 for the 15x10 rears and I think 245/60-15 for the 15x8 fronts. The 295's are 26.81" tall on a 9.5" rim and the 245's are 26.54" tall on a 7" rim.

I also have a set of slot mags, 15x8.5 & 15x10.

My '76 came with Cragar S/S wheels and the PO had installed a 0.25" or o.50" spacer apparently to clear the front calipers. All seems OK though I have wondered whether it might be wise to replace the front lugs with units that are that much longer in order to be safe. Is there any definitive info on whether a spacer is actually needed for disk brake dentrs and, of so, how thick it should be?
