what you guys think of these 7watt lights for backups? think they would fit in the tail light backup socket? 7 watts is hecka bright with a led.

it looks brighter but its hard to tell with no before picture. what i would like to see is a pic at night from the drivers seat looking backwards. my stock ones with the factory tint i cant see nothing.

 

Oh, I thought those were the better leds. The better ones supposedly do put out more light then a stock bulb.

 

If I would have seen those I would have jumped on them... I like!

I have to wait to order mine. X funds are low right now after a surprise o-ringing of the 7.3 after I already spent a bunch on 05+ front end parts.

Now someone posted their 08 rear bumper on their X the other day and made me want that too.

I ordered a set of running board led's too. $10.42. The shipping says up to like 20 business days. William, from Hong Kong? 2 days?

 

They did come pretty quick for being in Japan... They must have know they were going on an X...

 

I only did the running boards and license plate to see how I liked them. There's not much to see that you haven't already, but here goes.

Get your LED's and Gearwrench.



Each running board light is above a little protective plate. 8mm and 10mm hardware to remove.



Pull the lampholder and re-install the new lamp. Open the door to make sure it works. LED's are polarity sensitive. If it doesn't light, pull it and rotate it in the lampholder.



License plate is basically the same. Pull the plate and you can grab the lampholders from the back.



Wait for it to get dark.



I ordered from the link High Intentions posted. They aren't SMD's, but they shipped from CA. I had some e-bay bucks, so they were free.
