Cindy, don't cheat yourself, You have a truck minus the engine and trans... I saw what looks like a driveshaft still in there along with dual exhaust. Looks like it was a V8 and the floor shifter looks like it was out of a Mustang. The first of the Serial Number should start as 98RC70 or 97HC70. That tells us what engine was original in it. Yours came with a columm shift and still looks to be in good shape. Also saw that you have the light buckets, light trim, gauge cluster, behind seat tool box and trim inside it...

I live in Dewitt, Michigan, I have a friend that called first dibs on the truck if I thought I could not keep, not sure he will want it, I do not even know what to tell him I would like for it that is where the whole post begain. You are more than welcome to stop by and check it out, put and offer on the table.

I wouldn't worry too much about the glove box VIN tag being gone. The VIN is also stamped on the frame.
I'm not completely sure where they stamped it on a 1950 frame, but it's probably on the passenger side just in front of the cab mounts. It usually takes some cleaning to find the numbers. In 1950 there might also be a stamped tag on the firewall. Some of the 1950 guys will have to weigh in.
Maybe 51Panelman can give you an idea on the value. Do you have any of the parts that are removed, like the running boards and any of the interior items like gauges and a seat?

Welcome Cindy, that looks to be a fine project you have there. The serial# on the frame should be on the pass side just in near the radiator. If it had flathead 8, it would have been to the front of the front engine mount. Also there should be stampings someplace on the firewall. Most are near the center or toward the pass side. Of course I learned through my own experience that the Norfolk, Va plant stamped them on the drivers side above the hood spring mount. Ran through your area a lot on my trips to Grand Rapids when I lived in Niagara Falls.

Sorry to hear that, but I understand your situation. That really has potential and I actually have a flathead 8 and 3 speed out of a '50 F1 looking for a home. Too bad you're almost 600 miles away from me.
