What's the deal with EBP sensor?

I've read recently the EBP is inferred from MAP/Baro and the sensor is ignored. I've also read of checking EBP for a few problems and even a repair. Is the flash version the difference? How do you know if strategy in the truck is reading EBP? Is it just the latest flash that has the change?

+1 on this question ?

I had mine in for the stumble issue , they tested , said my EBP was bad , replaced it , reflashed the truck....

When I asked the guy why I had to change it because it was my
Understanding that the latest flash eliminated using it.... He looked at me like I had a "Boog" hangin and collected payment ?

The EBP was only deleted from the strategy on the 03 engines. None of the 04 and up engines are affected.

this might be a stupid question but my 2003 ex has a reflash sticker on the radiator support and if it eliminated the ebp how come when the tech hooked my truck to laptop it showed what the ebp was reading and I cleaned it up and my turbolag is gone?

The EBP wasn't eliminated from the strategy until sometime in 05 IIRC so you may not have the latest calibration. What's on the sticker may be ancient but if you can read the flash level that may be some help.

Read this short thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...er-2003-a.html

According to your sticker your EBP shouldn't be working and the SGII would confirm that. I'm not sure what the capabilities of IDS are in that regard. Maybe M-Chan, Cheezit, or somebody more knowledgeable in those matters can give an explanation.

So if my scanguage is reading the EBP and I have a dec 03 build it more than likely (does not) have the most recent flash in it. is that an accurate statement?

Look my 03 has the reflash but only because when i got the RECALL in the mail like a dumb assss i took it to them and let them try they kept it for almost two weeks . First i picked it up next day and it ran like sh-t made no boost and no power, took it back and they gave me a rental and they had it for awhile . They could not get it to take the flash so then they started throwing parts at it new turbo and from what the tech told me all kinds of stuff . Finally they put a muffler on it , i had taken off the muffler and put on straight pipe. When they did that some codes showed up and they got it close, It was never the same after that not as quick as it was . I regret ever taking it in . That was at 64000.

Dangit man.....I was lighting up and laughed at the same time when I read this. If I ever stop coughing, maybe I can finish enjoying the laugh.
