I have a 97 f-350 with a dana 60 front, crew cab long box, 5speed 4x4. The truck did not come with a front driveshaft and I found a place to get one but they are looking for collapsed dimensions. Does anyone have this combination that they can measure their front shaft so I can order one? Hoping to get one in before snow flies.
Worst case, if all you can find at the junkyard is a trashed one, you can buy it for scrap value and give it to the mfr you found as a model to make one for you.
i agree. call up a junk yard. doesnt matter if its from a 250 or 350. drive shaft for the dana 60 is the same in a ttb 44. just make sure its from a stick

Not true. The F350 front driveshaft is different than the F250's. The F350 uses a double u-joint at the t-case and thus a different t-case yoke. The u-joint at the diff is the same between the D50 TTB and D60.
I know we tend to "stay away" from the dealerships for most things, but it seems to me that the dealership parts department would have that information available AND might be able to give you some alternatives.

My F250 has the double at the tranfer case as well. the transfrer case yoke is the same. my front driveshaft is out a f350 from a junk yard. i bent mine on a tree stump. i believe the double u joint depends on the cab and bed size. but im not sure on that

That my be right, but I'm not sure either. I do know that the F350 driveshaft that came with my D60 won't hook up to my F250 t-case without changing the yoke; so I'm using my F250 driveshaft right now.
Bottom line for the OP> Make sure you get a drive shaft that will fit to your t-case.
