Torqshift Quick connect transmission line fittings
So I would like some advice on changing my transmission lines on my 2005 f-350 4x4 with a torqshift transmission. I bought the lines thinking it would be a simple job only to find out that the quick connect fitting on the radiator is junk. Just got off the phone with Ford Parts, they say that these fittings are not serviceable and only available with the purchase of the radiator.
Has anyone been able to find these fittings in the aftermarket, I tried NAPA parts, but the fitting was just a little bit too tight. It's going to suck to have to spend over 500 dollars (cost of the radiator and the transmission filter housing) just to get the 30 bucks worth of fittings!

After looking at the Napa fitting a bit closer, I think I can make it work by cutting approx.1/2 inch off of the metal transmission tube (about even with the ridge that locks the line in the quick connect.) It's a bit of a jerry rig but it beats paying for a whole new radiator. If it works I'll post up the Napa PN and some photos.

Ok so cutting the line....not a good idea. I had to buy the transmission filter housing from my local Ford dealer. With the housing came 4 quick connect fittings, and the entire system uses the same fittings (Both radiator fittings and the four on the filter housing all the same threads and diameter.) I ended up needing 3 of the 4 that came with the purchase so now I have one left when I have to change the lines again. The cost of the filter housing was around 110 bucks...kinda pricy for 3 fittings...but the truck is up and running and not leaking a drop!! NICE. I'm still going to look for these fittings though, somebody has to make them, and at a fraction of the cost of buying the whole filter assembly.

I know this is an old thread. However, I thought I would be able to help some people out that ran into the same problem as me. I could not find the quick connect fittings for the filter housing. I spent all night looking and found that 07-10 expeditions use a the same part, as well as some explorers I think. Anyways, the part number is 800-617. Its a dorman # I hope someone in need finds this. I just out everything back together and it works leak free! Good luck.
