Recent find. 1950 F1 (pics)

I recently bought a 1950 F-1 with a V8 flathead. The VIN says it originaly had a 6 cyl in it. The story I was told is that the engine was rebuild and run 10 years ago then parked. It also got a four speed (one ton?)transmission put in. It looks like the cross member at the back of the transmission has been hacked to get it to fit. Radiator is still in the 6 cyl location. I paid $700 for it. If I get a decent running engine out of the deal it might be worth it.

It was left behind the chicken coop for the last 10 years or so. The oil looks clean like new oil. Took the spark plugs out. Rusty on the outside and look new on the inside. So the story about a rebuilt engine might be true. I have added Marvel Mystery oil to the cylinders to help free up the engine. Got it to slowly turn over with the starter. Took the carb off. Some rust on the inside of the intake. Choke was closed so no mice in the intake. I am looking for a Holley 2110 carb to replace the 1939-1941 Holley 94 that is on it now. Carb and fuel pump would need rebuild. Going to try a compression test.

There is no battery, no electrical wiring, no fan or gen belts, no radiator hoses, no fuel system, no exhaust past the manifold. I will have to temporarily rig something up to try and just get it running to see if it works. Sounds like greasy knuckle-busting fun.

How is the underbody? That truck looks genuinely buried up to the running boards.

And are there two sets of turn signals on that truck (ones on top of the fenders, and ones next to the headlights)?

Like those running lights on the cab!

That must have been a popular grille guard as two other people posted pictures of theirs in a different post.

Oh, and the FORD hood trim is also on the wrong side on that truck.
