F1 vs. F3 front fender supports

Is there a difference between the two? I know the F1's get set in the rear holes and the F3's in the front set of holes, but are they the same part?
Because I am putting F1 fenders on my F3 and hope they are the same support.
I am talking about the ones that go from the inner fender and arch up and around to the outer fender, just behind the headlights.

The front fender braces are all the same for F1-6. The location at the holes on the inner fender do not have to do with the fender type. That's the difference between the radiator support location of the V8 and inline 6 engines. The 6 being longer, the rad support and fender braces use the forward set of holes. There's also a different hood baffle to match. Setting everything at the forward holes will give you a lot more room for your engine transplant.

Oh ok so since my truck had a 6 in it, and everything is in the front hole, it can stay there? That will be nice, because I was thinking I had to move them back, but don't want to move the core support back, because as you said...the room for the fan. Great! that is a BIG relief ! Thank You Wayne!

As you assemble the front sheet metal, you'll notice the fender braces attach at the same place on both the F1 and the larger fenders; on the horizontal portion of the upper and lower fender joint.

On another note! After soaking in WD-40, PB Blaster, and any concoction of the two, I FINALLY babied the door hinge bolts out! Without any breaking or stripping out the heads! I used an impact driver and hammer every night and day forever! patience paid off on those dirty little bolts! What a PITA!

Jeff, from what i've read those fender braces are both made the same. There isn't a left or right side. I think someone also said they are the same from 48-52. If this isn't correct, someone please say something. This comes up on E-play frequently. chuck

Yes, they're the same F1-F6 and 48-52. There's also no LT or RT side. You just reverse it for the other side. F7-F8 and COEs had longer supports due to the larger width of the fenders. However, they were still not side specific.

I just happened to come across this picture in my photo albums. I know it's not the best quality and size, but one can see that the support on the right has a lip extending over it, while the support on the left is smooth. That's because they're flipped opposite of each other.
