new guy has questions
hi everyone im new to this site well this is the only site i have posted on ever. I have a 1997 ford f-350 PSD with the 5spd and I just had a few questions. 1 is their a way to quiet the 97 7.3l down at all. Kind of like the forum on the 99 and up ones. 2 will the turbo from the 99 and up 7.3l work on the 97 7.3l
3 will the 6 speed trany bolt to the 97 if anyone could point me in the right direction on these questions it would be great thank-you

the superdutys used a different set up on the turbos, youd need the driverside manifold, up pipes, intake if late 99 and up and snake the intercooler if possible.
split shots like said above will help with the noise but youd need to tell your tuner about them
the 6spd is a project to get it in the OBS trucks, the zf6 has a taller face to it so it wont fit with the belly pan that we have in ours. youd need to do a little modding for it to fit, other wise, yes it would bolt up.

so is their a better turbo or is the stock ok because i know that the 99 and up have a waste gate and the 97 do not. But im not trying to build a hot rod just a good towing vehicle. And the trany how much fab work will go into it or would a gear vender just be a better way to go. About the noise i was reading a forum on here about the fuel line quick connectors on the 99 and up sucking air into the fuel line and making it cackle a lot louder then normal is this true for my truck THANKS

If you want a good tow vehicle, that is the way I set mine up at a reasonable cost. Stock turbo works fine with stage one injectors. It will hit 33lbs if I really try, but I don't do that cause you're right on the 25 being about as much as you really want to push it for long. Intercooler helps a lot on temps.

i have already on it a chip turbo back exhaust and intake. can i rebuild my factory injectors into a stage one. will my chip push them more then they should be pushed? what is this HPX line. another question what if i get that banks turbo housing that says it will make it boost at lower rpm is it really worth it. Reason why i ask all this is because i run a good grade out of my town on the way to the desert and Im pulling some real weight pluse 3000 rpm the truck is very loud and i have a new born now so just rtying to quiet it up and also get more power. ps this body style is my favorite and in cali my truck does not need to be smoged so i can run chip no cat and so on and so forth

Your stock injectors can be turned into stage ones, that's what mine are. http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...3306581271Link to rosewood. What kind of chip? It should be flashed to work with the stage ones to get the full power available. The housing will give you boost at lower rpm but higher egt's. It's not recommended for towing.
HPX is a crossover line to put between the heads to equalize the high pressure oil to the heads. Very minimal noise reduction, some say it does, some don't.
