Howdy,
Recently bought an old '77 F600 flatbed. Its been setting for the last 4 years and needs some TLC. Major problem at this point is the heater controls are busted and when the engine warms up steam rolls out of the defrost vents like it's on fire. There is coolant running down the firewall as well. I suspect I will need the entire heat assy.
I'm having a really hard time finding the parts. Does anyone on he forum know a good source for parts for this old truck?

I just replaced a heater core in my '73 F600 a little over a month ago. Got it at O'Reilly Auto Parts (quite a bit cheaper than NAPA). O'Reilly's doesn't have any information on F600s. Your dash and heater box should be the same as '67~'72 F100-F250-F350 pickups & trucks, which they do have info. on.

Glad I took my old heater core out first and took it in. There were two cores available for my non-air conditioned heater box, one core a little bigger than the other. I needed the smaller one, which oddly was slightly more expensive than the bigger one. My understanding is that some heater boxes are capable of taking either size, but mine wasn't. Otherwise, I would have bought the bigger, cheaper one.

O'Reilly's had both in stock. A whopping $23.98 plus tax with no core exchange got me outta' there and headed back home, a happy camper.
