What kind of exhaust do you use?

I have a 74 F100 with the 360 and it currently has glass packs. I'm wanting to go with a different sound, something that sounds mean, but just dont know what would sound good. What would you suggest?

Headers are a must especially on an FE. For me there's nothing better than Dynomax Bullets. Best sound there is! Flowmasters have to much drone and resonance for my taste.

I run MBRP ss glass packs that dump in front of the rear wheels, true duals, loud and mean! I agree with the flowmasters, IMO they sound better on a chebby. Ford engines have the best sound I think it's all in their firing order, that's why I like true duals... Idk just my .02

My 360 has a 2105 edelbrock intake and summit double pumper so it has a deep sound from that alone, running blackjack headers(now dynomax exhaust) 2.5" pipe into dual 24" glasspacks dumped at the axle for now. with my streetfire ignition i have a 4-500 rpm cold idle sounds like a monster and at high rpm sounds like the bullit mustang. its fairly loud in the first three gears but shifting to fourth its quiet until 70 mph its the perfect exhaust for me. (BW t-18 4speed)

390FE with Hedman Hedders PN89120, dual exhaust using Jeg's 2.5-inch mandrel bent tubing kit, 2.5-inch Moroso Spiral Flows, and my custom Nascar-style "boom tube" exhaust tip.

My 390fe has Hedman Headers to 3" collectors, 3" pipe, 3" 50 series Flowmasters dumped in front of the rear axle. It sounds great. The only thing is 390's hate header gaskets. I have to change the gaskets once a year. I cut the flange apart between each exhaust port which helps alot, but they still blow gaskets often....

Give Percy's "dead soft" aluminum header gaskets a try, i've had them on my FE for over 8yrs, leak free.

Sounds like something isn't flat. You can try one of the gaskets made to seal uneven surfaces like the ones montana mentioned or Remflex, it may or may not work. They don't have a very high tolerance to warpage/pitting/etc. I make sure I get thick flanged headers and then I machine both surfaces flat and run a copper gasket. I did this after having constant sealing problems while trying every gasket under the sun on a couple of different builds. It's more work at first but you only have to do it once. No leaks.
