Mercury truck at Auction

There is a nice 1949 Mercury truck that will be up for bid at the Toronto Fall Classic Car Auction. Yosemite green with black fenders Just remove the box , fenders , grill , doors and glass and it would look just like mine??
You can see it at www.ccpauctions.com

I've seen the crewcab Mercury up close. It was at the truck show in Arthur, Ontario this year. The owner usually has some parts to sell at the swapmeet. He picks up stainless and then spends the winter removing dents and buffing and then sells at swapmeets.

Thats an interesting way to cut the fenders on that custom. it looks good.
How often do you stumble upon that Mercury fender trim at swap meets? I sure like the way it looks. It would be cool to have matching trim on the rear fenders too.

Well it's not all that common but Mercury trim just seems to show up. You can go to a bunch of swapmeets and not see a thing. I spent two days and about 15 hours searching at the sept. swapmeet in Barrie Ontario this year and found a few things for guys that are looking for stuff. You just never know where this stuff will show up.
The fender trim is usually dented and scraped. They usually sell for about $300 a set all fixed up. I've never seen a set installed on the rear fenders. hope this information is useful to you Bobby.

Thanks Greg

You never see any way down here in New Mexico. I've seen a few pieces of trim at the wrecking yard that I thought might be adaptable.

Its not something thats high on my priority list, but just something that I might like to have....someday...

Thanks for the info

That extra cab Merc is actually built on a 4x4 Ranger chassis. I was talking to him at Waterdown a couple of years ago. He did a nice job on it.
