Fuel bowl gauge adapter?

When I bought my truck previous owner had a fuel pressure gauge screwed to the dash. I ripped it out soon as I got truck in driveway because it was cheap, not working, & wiring was sloppy. Anyways I was replacing radiator hoses & thermostat the other night & decided to remove the sender for the gauge that was screwed into the bottom of the fuel bowl. It was very large & hitting the upper hose too. So I plugged it for now. My question is- is there an adapter screwed into the bowl like its suppose to or does it look like they just ran a 1/8 NPT over the old threads?

Sorry for the brain fart. M10x1.0 (male) x 1/8" NPT (female) Metric Adapter is what I'm looking at under all that dirt I guess.

It looks like they ran a pipe plug into the hole. It's supposed to be straight threads with an o-ring, not tapered.

I put the 1/8 NPT pipe plug in after I removed the old sender. Your saying the adapter I screwed the pipe plug into looks like a pipe plug?

No, I didn't realize that there was an adapter in it. The adapter was so nasty that it looked like part of the fuel filter housing already. I just looked at that shiny pipe plug.
