94 F150 4x4 auto/od 302 - I would like to convert it to a manual. This truck is used for work, its paid for, setup for the job, and I don't have 20-30 grand for a replacement. Its just trashed its 4th trans and I need something a little more reliable than the e4od. I have looked through the previous post and found some info. I understand the computer will need replaced (I need to do that anyway), but do not know what my options are concering the x-fer case. Since I am faced with $2500 fix anyway, I would like to see about swaping it out. So I have a few questions;

1) Can I find a bolt in replacement that will fit between the engine and x-fer case? If so, any clue as to model #'s?
2) Will the wiring harness accept either or need replaced? I am pretty sure I can fudge the reverse lights, anything else?
3) Any problems leaving the auto steering column in park all the time? I know some older ford cars had electric park brake, but any other concerns?
4) Will computer from 95 2wd work in 4wd?

Note; I need to replace the computer to fix a problem with the firing order. Even though it was a 94 (may 94) it had a 95 engine. When the motor was replaced 4 years ago, they put in an engine with the 94 firing order (the wrong firing order). The shop had swaped the plug wires to quick fix it, and low and behold didn't say a word. Now where the injectors are concerned, it still a 95 and 4 injectors are firing at the wrong time.
