Nice truck for $16K from the 1 pic I can see. I've seen some with the same originality sell (not just listed) for low $20's on ebay. Very rare sight though, most F1's on there have been customized from miild to wild.

That is a steal for the price.

BTW - is the two-tone dash correct (silver-on-red for the ashtray and glove-box door)?

I can't see the ad any more but if it was body color over the gauges and above the SS strip, argent below the SS on the dispatch box and radio, Yes that is correct.

Here's the picture from the 52.

Just to compare, a pciture of the dash in my 51 standard cab Panel.

Yes, the two tone dash color is correct for any 51-52 truck. What is also correct for the 5-Star Deluxe cab s the two-tone upholstery on the seat and the color of the Magic Air heater. The truck is missing the lower interior trim panels that should be matching the burgundy color on the seat. The frames are on the door for the trim panel, but no trim.

Ilya, I see both the CL truck and yours have the entire dispatch box door painted argent, even above the strip. Mine was as below. Is yours original?

Ross,

From what I see, I believe that my 51 is bone stock (except for the wheels). It even had the correct seats for the Panel truck. One can actually see red color coming through the silver. It appears that yours may have been repainted.

All my trucks (6), as well as the sales literature and salesman's handbook, show body color above the trim. That said, different plants might have had different practices. Stu

My dash paint (the black) is original. I redid the argent after that shot (for obvious reasons)

I think the body color above the trim piece gives the dash a cleaner, more coherent look.

Enjoying all these great pics guys! I can only hope that my 49 F-1 looks as good as that red one on CR one day. However I will be going back to my original Meadow Green. And, Ilya, I gave you 90 bucks just a couple of weeks ago, stick that under your mattress and a little more here and there and before long, viola, you'll have that 16K.... Ahhhh..... If it was only that easy!

Getting back to those WWW's. How stock was that for the day? I'd love to do that but I struggle with the cool WWW's or stock black for originality. I've looked at the tires on Coker and I LOVE those Firestones WWW, but the Coker's are considerably cheaper, black or withe the WWW.

As I was walking into the house from the garage earlier this evening, my eyes focused on the 52 Ford truck dealer poster that's hanging on the door.

My eyes happened to be directly staring at the driver in the cab inset. As I looked more, I noticed that the top portion of the dispatch door (glove box) above the trim was painted body color and not silver.

So, this may be a 52 only deal or could be wrong on the dealer brochure, as discrepencies have been found between actual production versus pictures in brochures. I can almost guarantee that the 51 has never been repainted inside or outside.

Ilya - please see my above post. My four '51s are all as shown in that brochure. I won't doubt that yours started life as you describe, but doubt that most others came that way. Stu
